3 lots of welding
3 ball joints
steering box (anyone gorra 300TDi one - or will a 200TDi fit?)
headlight wet inside
number plate bulb out (it werent when i checked at the w/e :()
front ARB excess play (bush?)

Thats crap mate, I was expecting that when I took my 300tdi for the mot being i brought it from ebay with just over 2 months MOT left, failed on small hole in the downpipe so changed it for a de-cat

Got a couple of advisories for leaky steering damper and rusty rear brakelines and SRS light on

Your in for a busy week, good luck :)

Started fitting new front caliper's as I suspected the old one's pistons were seized. Weren't wrong there! O/S had 1 seized, N/S had 3  all went great on O/S until I found 1 nicely rounded caliper bolt on the N/S:doh: 30 min's later and a beaten on socket and it was free, just gutted it started pee'ing it down too much to finish off!!!!

Get in! finally converted my 90.
200tdi is in a working a treat:D
Just exhaust left to do, what a palarvah that was:rolleyes:

Was it the old 'manifold in a different place so a new downpipe was required malarkey' why the hell do they put the turbo lower in a discovery engine

Limped up the road avoiding 3rd gear like the plague to pick up the new box........gonna spend tomorrow flushing it and taking a peek inside but it all seems good at 1st glance with very little play.....oh, and fitting axle breathers and CB aerial

Removed drag link , steering arm and steering box from convertable.
Removed drag link , steering arm and got steering box ready to remove from green disco.

why is the PAS pump fitting different ?

Finally got round to doing the cam belt. Front panel off rad and intercooler out (so I can flush and clean them at the same time) aux' belt, off crank drive pulley off, timing cover off. No problems so far.
The cam belt looks like new but the rest of it looks like original unmodified, early 300tdi, flange on the tensioner but not on the crank drive pulley.
However there is oil in the timing chest so it needs a crankshaft front oil seal and I haven't got one so that's an end to today's efforts.
Went and collected a new genuine seal ready for putting it all back together tomorrow.
