Been mostly making a snorkel for mine. Fitted a 200tdi washer bottle so i could put a canister airbox in and been cutting, heating and tiger sealing various pieces of drainpipe to the side of the truck. :D
Anyone know if you can buy the snorkel top pieces seperatly?
Also need to fit my CB and try to get it to work, seems to be stuck in some sort of safe mode.

Chris.

If your CB is a Maycom EM27 - the chances are the onboard battery will have failed - later models used a capacitor to keep the memory alive. They are notorious for locking up and doing strange stuff. Also there are two screens colour on these sets. One is green and the other is orange. I can't remember which is which but one is only fit for the bin if it stops transmitting and the other should be ok.

Search on Google and you should find plenty of sites with repairs, mods etc. but last time I checked no-one has found a permanent repair for the transmission failure on EM27's. Shame, they are a great wee set when they work. KnightsCB did my last repair and it worked ok for a while, but didn't last. This is by no means a slur on KnightsCB - they are excellent, it's just the bloody set is a pig.

You can find the top bits on eBay fella :)

Fitted a snorkel to a Rangie with a friend of mine today, still no parts for me to finish off me Disco tho.

De-rusted my Disco 1 200tdi, hammerited the bumpers and waxoiled underneath, with a brush - pretty sure my arms and soom of my body and face are now well protected come winter!

At last i got my steering guard on, and choped the side bumpers on the Disco , also got some of the breathers in as well and then run out of time.

Just got the Gear Box and the Transfer Box to when i find them , lol

Hmm plymouth is a fair way to go... and what makes you think I'll get shafted. I know several of the people who work ther and I trust them.. whats so special about brookwells.. to be frank I recon that what devon 4x4 don't know about landrovers probably isn't worth knowing

They're a bunch of over priced arrogant stuck up ****ers. Who lie about the quality of their products and try to frighten people & forum Mods with threats of legal action if anyone challenges their Bull****.

To be honest I wouldn't **** on one of em if they were on fire.

each to his own I guess.. as I say I know some of them personally.. could be you wouldn't **** on me either if I was on fire

Actuallly I would :D I'm very helpful like that. But I'm also a spiteful fooker and I had a run in with D4x4 on mudclub over their waffle boards. As they were trying to claim that theirs are speshully made for them, and are better & stronger than everybody else's waffleboards. When I pointed out they were talking ****e and asked for proof, they got ****y & threatened me with libel action and when that didn't shut me up they used their position as moderators and contributors to mudclub to get me threatened with expulsion if I didn't drop the subject. That and the fact that a lot of their stuff is copied from other peoples designs and then sold at the twice the price, plus they also buy from ****part and repackage to d4x4 packaging, and that makes them, in my opinion. A bunch of ****ers.

Got V8 Disco back on the road, and picked up my defender, which then promptly failed the MOT D'oh! Nothing to major, needs a couple of brake pipes, a new rear axle seal a two rear shock rubbers! All good really!
