Spent the day tracing cables to dead ends, strange colours and defunct earths.

Headlights now working :D

Side lights now working :D:D

Hazards now working :D:D:D

Tomorrow we take on the indicators, full beam and if time the brake lights.............. Oh joy.

It seems the last tinkerer just took a guess at what to plug into any old switch.

intermittent back door lock opening problem on me d2,after some research, popped the lr badge on the handle cover and sprayed the handle with a liberal spray of wd40,it is now cured-a cheap and easy fixed- dead chuffed.:clap2:

New dipstick tube in my 90. The car's new to me (and I'm new to Land Rover), but I thought it was odd the place I bought it (specialist) would've stuck too much oil in. Read on here about 200tdi dipstick tubes dropping into the case. Good job I swapped it instead of letting some oil out. Olive had slipped about 3 inches along the tube. So... cheers Landyzone.

Not physically done owt today but I've ordered the rest of the towing gear I needed and some diff guards to get it ready for LZ11 :D

smart move :D

drove round with mine covered in mud today getting some weird looks only had the wiper area clear :D then jetwashed it when I got home and changed the wheels back to the road wheels ready for towing this week. can't wait to get the arches cut and the bigger a/t's on should mean I can got randomly playing easier instead of all the swapping of wheels

Full beam / indicators, look at the wiring high up behind the grill as all that wiring all seams to get badly messed about with ;)

Cam belt snapped this morning, done less that 30k.
That'll teach me for going off road without any wadding plugs in.

Full belt kit (STC4096L) and push rods ordered, just need RAC to get it home and start stripping the rest of the bits off.
