sorted my rear indicator problem seemed to be a blow bulb but couldn't see the filiment broken. then moved the second battery earth from the front panel to the alternator bracket and it seems to have helped with my power drain issue. Is there any specific points that you guys have found help with the general earth side of a D1's electrickery? thinking of putting an earth from alt to chassis then put the second battery earth to the chassis aswell to make sure the first battery has a good earth aswell

Finished fitting my bilge pump to my 200tdi, pump out all that nasty hot air!!! Went surprisingly unproblematic, also sorted out my wipers which didn't work - turns out it was a fuse - I was looking at the wrong one last time I checked.

Discovered that I can jiggle my front prop a little (not the back) - is this normal??

You could probable pump some grease into it and see if the play goes but if not its a worn U/J :(

Ah, that is music to my ears!!! I was hoping it was the UJ's and not something more sinister - gonna put a spacer on there while I'm at it as it will have had a 3.5'' lift by the time its done...
Cheers Matey!!

I need to grease my front prop but the end of my grease gun won't fit onto the nipples either end as it fouls on the U/J before it touches the nipple but does the rear prop fine, bought some prop grease nipples at billing thinking this will sort it but found they was already fitted so need longer ones if i can get them to sort it :(

Drove home from work and my horn wouldn't stop going off by its self.

Wiggling the indicator stalk sets it off. So took the plastics off when i got back, two wires came out from somewhere attached to the indicator stalk. didn't have any torx security bits to take separate the bits. Does anyone know how these wires attach? Shall have to replace the stalk because the ends fallen off too.

All good fun! rather embarrassing beeping at every poor sod who came near me.

New stalks only cheap:)

Tweaked the pump as sick of the slowness, massive improvement but need to fine tune as have slight black smoke full acceleration, engines sounding quite rough though, making a knocking noise, searched about on here and think it could be timing out ( need new belt fitting) or maybe push rods, could be wrong though ha

Did the timing belt on the 19J. Actually, I did it yesterday but it slipped one tooth when tensioning it. So today I took it apart again and reset. All working again now :)

found out that the guys that did my gearbox n clutch replacement have disposed of both of my faulty gearboxes and both transfer boxes after I specifically said I wanted them back. Not a happy bunny

Took the exhaust manifold and turbo off today, 1 to fix the blowing at manifold and 2 to free up the seized wastegate.

Both jobs fixed, but the flexing part of the down pipe (de-cat) is now blowing quite badly.
As I have a spare down pipe (with cat) I may cut the flexy section out and weld in a section of pipe, at the same time cut off the casing of the cat and weld it around the pipe so it looks like the cat is still there (no questions at MOT time).

I did that to my cats as they had collapsed, cheaper/easier than replacing them

Don't worry about the cat it makes no difference at the MOT and it changes nothing regarding the emissions it is a myth :D

The legislation is either changing or has changed for diesel engined vehicles. If they were fitted with a cat when manufactured they won't pass an MOT test if it's been removed.

Fitted noisekiller bellhousing blanket.

Pulled wire from spade connector (presume reverse light switch) while doing the above.
