What have you done to your Freelander today

I've taken the rear tailgate to bits as the regulator cable has snapped.

The window is now held up with two bits of wood till I can fix it. I really should have a pig in the back and a bailer twine belt with that kind of approach to landy mechanics.

I've no trouble fitting mine at all. The V6 uses 2 less bolts than the other models which I'm sure makes the job easier.
That's a fair swop.

- 2 bolts
+ 2 cylinders

Drove mine to work for the first time this year. :)

I got wet.......

It's been raining a reasonable amount down here and I drove it 29 miles and stopped 9 times to get out and view storm damaged properties.

Oh well. Make hay while I can. Don't you just love 16 hour days. That is day no. 6 of 9 done now. Looking forward to a good nights sleep!..........

At the weekend :D

PS. The doors didn't fall off mine in the wet. I heard a rumour that it is the 'real' Land Rovers that the doors fall off, not the Freelanders

Renault 5 thermostat mod.Took longer than expected and drew blood, but what a difference ! It now goes up to 11.................

Yaay!! Another convert..

Meanwhile, in all this stupid rain, the passenger side wiper stopped wiping. I can feel movement through the arm so I'm guessing the arm nut is loose. I'll sort it tomorrow morning as I didn't get home from work til 10 and it was dark and cold and raining and I'VE HAD ENOUGH!

Does the Renault stat make much difference? I've noticed my temp gauge getting quite erratic recently, coupled with my pathetic mpg (down to 22 ish during mixed driving, have never ever had more than 30)

You have larger tyres don't you. That will affect the mpg. You'd be no worse of with a V6 if you are only getting 20mpg on the TD4. I know what I'd have ;)

This arrived today, so I'll be having a go at fitting it later. Any tips?

I know what I want :p would love a V6, the road tax difference is minimal too, the fuel is cheaper, and I'd end up with an auto :D

But I'd have to find somebody to buy mine as is, or find a garage who'd be willing to swap my stuff onto another car...plus I like the 3dr

Nice V6 3 door would be less to buy than you would get for your TD4 ;)

picked up a freelander tow bar from e bay for £30, the picture made it look quite tatty, but on receiving it am well happy with it, yes it had the plug already attached, and only took a couple of hours to fit, still need to test it out, but my trailer is being used as a log store at the moment

Yes but a V6 is a V6 and a TD4 just isn't lol, I have a thing for 6cyl engines, altho they've usually been a straight 6!

Nodge, Only facelift 3dr i've seen for sale today has been a 54 plate Sport Premium, and I'd end up changing so much there'd be nowt to call a Sport anymore, not that there's much sporty in the first place

Fitted a new radio today a Kenwood KMM-357 it controls an ipod and can play MP3's, AAC, WMA, WAV and is the only one I can find that plays FLAC files which I have loads.
