How about mounting the camera on some sort of bracket the allows it to peer through the gaps between the spokes of spare wheel?

Your lucky to have minimal rust, most are in a bad way. You should be able to fix the broken bolt by gluing in a new one with epoxy resin or strong silicone.
I'd be tempted to put a camera above the number plate as it would be hidden by the handle.
 
Hey troop again. Just picked some front speakers for my landymas my original ones are absolute carp:mad::mad::mad::mad:Fusion en fr6021 with some warranty on them. Price under £20 so not bad. I will make them fit;);) and they come in green but behind standard grilles they won't be visible.

Forget paying £60 for a second hand boot handle. They can be picked up new for about £80, if you search;)

Need second handle so I can work my way to fit the camera in a warm house but still be able to use car daily. I need to modify landy logo wich means cutting and fitting camera. Mine is almost perfect condition. A bit discoloured but apart that and broken middle bolt there is nothing wrong with it.

Fitted a night reverse cam in the rear bumper in the 'o' of Rover. Mirror with LCD for display.

Also, small relay box, trailer switch and waterproof connector that allows me to connect the display to a camera on the rear of my horse trailer so that I can see the vehicle behind the trailer in the rear view mirror - as the correct mirror image of course ! This also kills the reversing bleeper which annoys when sommat on tow hook.

Weird and looks like trailer has fallen off - but great for reversing it.
 
bought some ozram led bulbs for the reverse-lights ..
yet to fit .. hoping for better illumination when reversing up this narrow street ..
n' about to take a wheel-cover design to the printers ..

Never having had an SE Freelander I don't even know what a FBH does or how it works so maybe the snobby folk out there in their fancy posh top of the range motors would like to enlighten us great unwashed to it's delights.

Nothing to do with top of the range, rather the reverse.

It means a coal range (Fuel Burning Heater). The oilers need them to warm up the lump and the cabin in less than 50 miles.

All TD4s up to about 2005 had the FBH. Mine does have one luckily for me. Mine was registered in March 2005. I know of a Jan 2005 that doesn't have one though :confused:.
As Tony said, the TD4 has it. The TD4 engine doesn't really get hot enough in winter to warm up the cabin effectively. So LR added a small oil fired boiler to help warm the engine in winter. Lots of diesel engine vehicles have them.
I've just added a remote to the FBH and some relays to the blower fan inside. This way I can start the FBH without going outside on a cold morning. The heater will then warm up the cabin and engine in advance of me leaving for work.

You'll have a FBH in your TD4 too ;)
