Must admit got a gazebo myself and is really nice , sun comes over to the front of the house around midday , is nice in keeping the sun off the back of ur head , or if it’s light rain , keep meaning to buy some sides for it

Flack came down to Cheshire and did all my engine work also, I asked him a million questions about what he was doing ha ha

Might drive down and have a natter with you both for the craic when the time comes to get your engine work done also gents

Talking of timing belts watches this today

Replaced in tank pump in the v8, went to Asda yesterday to fill up with lpg and the silly thing wouldn't start, oops! Fortunately my pal where the 2 door tdi is was able to tow me back to his workshop, power to the pump but no pressure. Rimmer Bros delivered a pump this afternoon and away it went. Super.
My Owner not happy, but that is life, got it muddy on the way home to annoy even more.

Stuck a paper clip in the bonnet alarm sensor connector that has suddenly decided to randomly trigger every couple minutes, silence restored…..

Got replacement leather gaiters (with blue stiching) for the handbrake & hi-lo lever as they are disintegrating. I've done the hi-lo tonight which I'll refit tomorrow & then it's the handbrake levers turn.

Handbrake cover done today, about all I could do in this cr*p weather.

That's a USB charger with voltmeter & cabin temperature readout (it was running at the time hence the 14.4v).

Changed the bulb in the passenger side temperature control switch (in the ATC unit). Unfortunately I order the wrong one the switch illumination bulbs have a black base & the LCD screen illumination has a grey base. The one I got (grey base) fits but I guess it's a different wattage so I'll see how much brighter it is later. Pic taken before I replaced the bulb.

Think they were well past their sell by date - I have the same for SWMBO's D1 - but not got round to fitting them yet ... Look very good

SWMBO's D1 passed its MOT today - clean ticket too .... but I had spent quite a bit of time banishing tin worms, which had been rather busy during lockdown

Hello, everyone.
I purchased another Discovery 2 td5 12 days ago, drove it back up the road from Sheffield home, no exhaust back box when I went to look at it and a straight through pipe.
I have been tinkering to get rid of the hunting underload as this one is an Auto and my previous one (sold 4 years ago) was a manual.
I did the wastegate valve which was free, lubed it up anyway. Installed a back box to the straight through, replaced the waste gate managment valve (no noticable difference), checked the ecu plugs for oil, which there was, cleaned them with contact cleaner each day for 4 days, replaced the fuel pump for new (the gauge wasn't working correctly and now is again), replaced the injector harness for new. At this point it was feeling slightly better. Cleaned the MAF and the MAP and it was now feeling improvement. I serviced it with new filters, (air, fuel, oil filters & automatic gearbox filter). New fluids in the engine, transfer box, automatic gear box, diffs, brakes, power steering and coolant. Installed the middle box also.
And adjusted the wastegate actuator to 11 threads as it was sitting at around 17 threads.
I have taken it for 6 mile test drive and it does seem happier.
Replaced the passenger electric window motor and regulator.

Next the sunroofs so a head lining can be fitted

Going from 17 threads to 11 will have made a huge difference. At 17 threads I doubt the turbo was giving any boost until well above 2500 rpm.

Agreed, it was hunting under load at around 2900-3200, however the live view was sowing some strange turbo mod percentages also.
It did however pass the stall test perfectly.

Either way it is much better now

Fitted the remapped ECU at 180bhp, EGR delete, straight through exhaust and popcorn at 4400rpm

Refitted BCU with Immobiliser full delete

feels and sounds awesome!!

It was a great Saturday afternoon on my disco yesterday. Managed to resolve a horn issue, replaced the side light and main beam bulbs to LED. Fitted light guards after repairing the existing holder brackets. Replaced the rear door which went better than expected! Steering guard, and new steel bumper! To finish it off, some WD40 to blacken off the front! Thanks to @MikeDISCO for supplying the knowledge, cider, his great collection of tools and bits!

Was a long but pretty productive afternoon, and it’s amazing the tricks and tools your pick up along 15 years of owning multiple discos, especially when the previous owner of this one really didn’t see the point of buying any fit for purpose lugs and fixings that literally cost pence,,, instead Cable ties where the order of the day lol.

Snorkel and rear wheel carrier next, then we start on mine!!
