Wished I had heated seats and front screen driving the D1 to work at half 3 this morning.

The heated seat pads you can buy for around £10 are fairly effective... i've got them on the front seats of my D2. They're not quite as good as the heated leather seats I had in my Volvo, but they warm up quickly and are good on cold mornings.

My drivers seat is pretty knackered, sags badly.
Got a pair of rx8 seats that I want to fit but that'll have to wait till I have spare time. So about 3 years from now I expect

Out of interest... why the new stalks? Just to look smarter or did the old ones not work?

symbols on the existing ones have virtually disappeared, so was going to get new ones anyway , the discovery 4 stalks were cheaper , just got these second hand

they also have a better design in the way u can control them, as the wipers adjust according to speed on the old ones, these have a better way to control the back wiper as well

Well our grand cherokee got crashed into by an 18 year old lad on the way home from the dealer after getting a few issues sorted.

He turned right from a left hand lane on a roundabout and bounced off my back wheel.
Of course having had held a licence for 6 months he knew he was in the right

Gone through insurance and they have accepted liability so the missus is currently swanning around in this:

Lovely to drive but my money would go on a D4 or Range Rover, no question.

I've noticed too the number of drivers, particularly younger ones these days who go round a roundabout taking the "outside line" all the way, immaterial of which exit they're going to use.
It's as if driving instructors are unwilling or unable to teach the accepted way of approaching and using roundabouts.

thought it was just me noticing this lately

indicating right whilst sitting in the left lane at roundabouts

Chris

glad at the end of the day ur all safe and well

is that a Q7 , am with u , would prefer a D4 or rangie

what happened with the young lad, did he get banned

it's only 6 x points now isn't it for new drivers

Two lane roundavout with traffic lights on it.
Him in left lane arrowrd straight on only and me in right lane arrowed straight on and right.
Both behind a vehicle at traffic lights.

Lights turn green, first two cars go straight on.
I follow and he goes right and connects his front wing and front right wheel with my left rear wheel.

Damaged isnt too bad and I had the dad call me after a couple of days to say it was a cheap fix and he can sort it all out.
Started gettting arsey when I told him the 20" wheels were £700 plus vat each and the Pirelli tyre was £250.

"No no that's rubbish I could get them done cheaper"
OK mate I'll let he insurance sort it out.

Yes everyone got out and was walking around and apart from my old back injury flaring up we all seem to be ok.

Yes Q7 S line diesel. It's very nice, lovely seats, 8 speed gearbox, lots of toys but it doesn't feel as nice to drive as I'd hope a £70k luxury SUV would be.

Front end doesn't look very nice imo, grill on my lorry is smaller than this one!

@Co-Pang-Yang As long as your all OK, just becomes a PITA then to get it all resolved satisfactorily.

Showed this before.
Not just Youngsters, This was a mid to late 50's woman. She then also chose the centre lane on the next roundabout to trun right onto the motorway.

Cheers

A colleague in work cut somebody up at a roundabout but an off duty officer caught the incident on his dashcam. I don't know the details but she is getting charged with dangerous driving.

If using the wrong lane at a roundabout was a banning offense there wouldn't be many people left on the road :p

didn't know if he was done for driving with undue care and attention

agree though ref the roundabout lanes , seems a daily occurrence when some drivers can't make there minds up,

Thats true. We all make mistakes from time to time - unfortunately some people seem to make a lot of them!

I'm getting fed up of people who can't read the lane markings at M4 J18 though. Coming up the eastbound exit slip, the RH Lane turns south to Bath, the left hand lane is clearly marked as being for both left and right turning. Therefore unless overtaking something you should be in the left hand lane. As the lanes enter the roundabout the left hand lane splits (becoming the left and middle lanes on the roundabout) whilst the Right Hand Lane becomes the right hand lane on teh roundabout. There are dotted lines on the ground to show the route you should take.

I am really fed up of having to slam on the brakes for people who drive up in the right hand lane, enter the roundabout and immediately go for the middle lane without a) checking their mirrors of b) looking at the road markings. It was the almost daily near misses on this roundabout that persuaded me to buy a dashcam!

very true in getting in the wrong lane, but i've always looked and indicated and waited until someone let me in

with a lot of roads now being so well sign posted it does make it considerably easier ,

drives me nut when ur on the motorway , also in a marked lane to get off at the next junction, then getting an idiot accelerate down the lane next to u then trying to push in

being stupid by there actions , traffic going a lot faster have to either slam there anchors on or swerve into the middle lane to avoid hitting the car trying to squeeze into the lane of traffic

if i can't get into a lane safely i just go to the next junction and come back, knowing the road layout better the second time around

would rather waste 10 x mins or so than to cause an accident

all about consideration , patience and thinking of other road users

will always prefer to just let someone in if it means there not got half of there car into a live lane

Just so long as the jeep is repaired properly everything will be all good.
Gonna visit the body shop to check the car over before I accept it.

it's all the hassle though that you've got to go through , hopefully it will all be ok and ur soon back on the road
