Betterer known as TFR, or wheel cleaner. Strips oft polish and any paint protection yer got like wax.Traffic film remover is the stuff all the pros use. Many of them use it on the interior too!!

Well according to what you said it just strips the protection off, so if you then rewax it it ought in fact to be better for it.
If it stripped the actual paint off then yes it would be disastrous!!
Lacquer and paint are usually pretty tough and let's face it T-cut was no pansy when it came to removing oxidised paint.
As you said, it is wheel cleaner and gets all the brake dust off, but wheels are painted and lacquered too!
Can't say that I use anything much as I haven't even washed a car for God knows how long.
But I used to be keener especially when I ran my car club. Couldn't let the side down and all of ours were painted with old fashioned celly, which needed cutting and polishing regularly.

Mine did that too. I kept the two halves of the placky bit that did the open then close action, but could never find a glue that would hold them.

Tfr contains chemicals lile salt and mild acids which is why it's not good fer washing body work. It wont take oft the laqour but it does attack it. That's why I dislike it.

On mine it is the little placky thing that rotates a bit to make it click shut then click open that bust in two. I tried various glues and none held.
