ok my 4.6 started running sick when first started so i changed the coolant temp sensor today and it feels like a new car but my temp gauge is not working any help please :confused::confused::confused::confused:

I could be wrong but doesn't the V8 use two temp sensors - one for the Engine ECU coolant sensor and one for the Temp Gauge??

Sure the Classics did, one was temp sender and the other was a Thermotime switch...

where is the temp sensor

The one for the gauge is at the front of the engine on top, very near where the rubber large hose connects.

On my engine the plug is green plastic. The one for the ECU is brown and little further towards the back and left.

I think it depends on the age of vehicle. Post '99 Bosch models only had one temp sensor which I recall was black and located front an centre. I think the pre 99 GEMS Lucas models had two but can't be sure.
