What determines when a single flare or a double flare should be used. Is it to do with the Male/female fitting pushing down on the flare.

?Hi
Is it only to use double flares for brake lines
im not quite sure what you mean, but by double or single this is what is usually meant , on the left is a double ,right a single as its the first operation in making a flare whilst left takes two operations, the same type of joint is used for clutch lines and earlier oil coolers etcgstuartpost: 4380282 said:Apologies , is it true that u should only use double flares for brake lines plse

Thks, I used the bubble flare on mine
Managed to find a picture, so the far left one, “ the single flare “ I believe should never be used on a brake line
