What do you hink this is worth....?

Greetings members:) I was hoping to pic your brains (not literally of course that would be wierd and slightly disconcerting, it would also make me a cannibal)

So my neighbour owns this 109 that he wants to sell, I have only seen it driven 3 time in as many years. He does fastidiously start it every week and lets it idle. It has a lovely sounding V8 in it and is in reasonably good knick as you can see from the pics. Chassis is solid although needs treatment. He wants to sell it but wants silly money in the region of 3.5K for it. I took it for a spin and it drives well, brakes work (always a plus) and is a functioning and running vehicle tax'd MOT'd etc.

It is also quite unique but I don't think it is worth 3.5K unique. Thoughts?

Oh he also lives in the house behind the Landy with tin foil over the windows.....??? And no he is not growing marajuana they are just a very excentric and slightly wierd family.

I am afraid I reckon he would squeeze 2k at least for it without too many problems. Its desirable, series + 109 + V8 what more does anyone want... and MOT and tax.. (et voila)

Add to that the search light plug on the front means it has history /character and a little bit different.. Are they sirens on the roof ?

I just had a look and yes they are sirens/horns mounted on the roof..must be sirens as there are a set of horns behind the grill.

I was asking as i was thinking of buying it polishing it up with some work and selling it on myself.

Vehicle valuation is really very vague and difficult. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. There are some on here that wouldn't value it at more than a few hundred, whereas some of the Series landy fans may be willing to part with a couple of grand or more.

I couldnt' agree more. I just sold my 1976 series 3 88 to a fellow in germany. I have replaced it with a 1984 V8 petrol/lpg 110 SW had i known that my neighbour wanted to sell his i would have happily bought it for 2K.

I just hate to see old Landy's parked up going to waste because the person who owns it is to attached to let it go but happy to watch it rot away. It's a traversty they should be on the road and being used.

But that would mean finding a buyer for the 110 V8 as well as forking out for a LPG system in the 109....The V8 is just to thirsty to use all the time without LPG fitted. I get to drive into the goverments additional car tax zone (Londn congestion charge zone) for free with LPG:D
 
i thought fire injun as soon as i saw it. Wots it worth to you? I wouldnt want it. Other would bite yer hand off and the trumpton gimps would love it too.
 
Could look really good with some time spent on it. Someone once told me you needed to push the recessed front out to fit a V8 in a Series? Maybe that's just when retrofitting...
