Having moved house up to Surrey, i need a new Indi. He seems fairly local to me.

My previous one was in Southampton. Its not impossible to go back, but somewhere a bit more local would be nice. Need a 72K service on my Td5 90 Doing.

So any reviews or reccomenmdations would be good?

I need to book somewhere asap as its needs one doing in less than 500 miles. I stupidly got muddled up with when it was last done.

Cheers

Could try doing it yourself, ive just done my td5 90,filters, oils, brakes grease up etc. and it all went ok, never done it before, and I definitely am not a mechanically minded. Probably under half of indie price as well.

theres a few others around here with good reputations. KG are known as being a bit expensive, but I have always found them helpful and friendly. (except they didnt want to know my KV6 - but maybe that shows they know their stuff??)

I use them quite a lot for parts, but I've felt fleeced each time I've got them to do any work on my vehicles.

I've used Kingsley Cross Country and they're very good.

West 4x4 is my favourite, but you need to book weeks in advance to get in there.

Having moved house up to Surrey,

Depends where in Surrey you are. I've used Challenger 4x4 in Farnbrough and have been happy with them so far. Definately cheaper than a main dealer, not sure how they compare to other indy's on price.

When I was living down that way I used challenger 4x4 and kingsley cross country both are good and know what they are doing but there is also midnight autos in bordon the last big service and cambelt change I had last year was done by challenger and cost
£430 and befor that was Kingsley and that was againg 48,000 service and that was on my old disco two years befor that cost £360 then.
Never liked gotts as when I went there I felt kind of robbed.

who did you used to use in soton?

west 4x4 good then? he seemed helpfull on the phone but I always like recomentaions before using somone!

Third (or fourth) recommendation for Challenger 4x4. Just after I bought the 110 I gave it a service and asked them to give it a thorough going over. They did so at no extra charge and all I can say is they were extremely thorough.

I nearly s**t myself when they pulled out the sheet of paper but it was just a long list of very small stuff - the biggest being the A-frame ball-join was worn. Compared to other places in West Wales they're not that much more expensive and on the whole have done a fantastic job. The last place I took it for a service (in WW) was a big cheaper but managed to blow the turbo up in the process of changing the filter. Credit to the guys - I now have a brand spanking new turbo free of charge.

I'd certainly recommend them. Very helpful, seems to be very good. Very reasonable charges. No complaints (other than you need to book quite a long way ahead).

He does have a courtesy car, but you need to mention that you want it when you book in.
