Similar boat as me (but my Disco ain't rotten), spent nigh on £3k on the Disco, just needs a bit of welding to see her right .. but the Mrs:mad: is p'd off at spending on an old car! Even with a year's tax on her I'd be lucky to get £750, so if my hand is forced I've told her I'm breaking her up.

sorry thought you said breaking up as in you & the missus - misread that

yeah you could be right there C/M lol - or just buy them mot,d & sell it 12months later - aint a great fan of welding - even have a mate willing to do the job but im a bit fussy & will want to cut out all the rust & not just do what it needs for mot - will there be anything left ??? it will end up costing me a fortune - the fact that you can buy a disco 1 with off road kit for under 2 grand its a no brainer really - probably a lot being chucked away due to that i guess but then thats where all our spare bits come from

Being Honist mate I made the dession this time last year I new the sills needed doing as was advised on the last MOT so I had that in mind then one weekend I was out it in bit of light off roading it didn't feel right any way when I got near home I went over some speed bumps near me then something went got home to find out the hole rear cross member had callapsed causeing all the rot from behind driver door back to give.
That was it decided that disco had had enough time and money spent on it yes I could have welded every thing up on it but have just spent the last 3 months rebuilding the wife's disco then so decided to get rid I got £500 for it on eBay

I bought I Saab 9.3 nearly new but that has gone so boring as I miss my 300TDI so I have bought anouther and picking up in the week
