It stays in the mid point from just over 80C to 105C the rises slowly to 110 before going into the red.The so called temperature gauge on a p38, isn't. It won't start to creep up It will go from 'normal' to 3/4 is seconds, when it's already too hot. Followed swiftly by 'in the red'
Mine are automatic on a stat as I use them for cooling in place of the viscous fan.I have wired my a/c fans to a switch so that when i see the temp climing i can manually start them
