Possible HG failure on the doozle. Worserer more likely thing will be micro fractures. Itl look fine but if you test it with dye looks like a smashed vase all glued back together.

Oh they are lol. It’s a robust engine. You can tweak them back to health even though their 30 yrs old heads just don’t like too much heat. Was never designed for the weight of a P38 just bunged in there.

The 3.0d bmw one would have been a better choice, especially the first generation. The 38' just missed out on that one

I do like straight 6 though. Bit weak for the vehicle , well mine weren’t but I blame Alan 
Could you not say the same for any car/brand? Yes some put up with more abuse than others, but.Only poorly maintained diesels die of gasket failure and cracked noggins...
