Still a slight whiff of rubber in the cabin from the new heater hoses but not unpleasant.

I've definitely got a misting of oil on the chassis leg near the oil filter but I cannot see where it is coming from. It can only be the oil cooler pipes where the rubber crimps on but there's nothing obvious.
You should have metal top so likely ok??

oil pressure sensor leaking? is not far down there

I remember something about a pressure washer

Bought a replacement key fob off of the bay of E, £10 just to steal the battery holder thing for my key so now I should have 2 for the old girl.

Filled it with LPG again too, 55ppl vs 1.46ppl no brainer and at 16mpg on Gas I'm looking at equivalent of over 30mpg so I'm happy.. :)

Otto passed with just 5 advisories (slight corrosion on both rear discs, both rear brakes lines corroded or covered in contamination, slight blow on exhaust centre box.

All non-urgent / home sortable with a bit of time / effort, or for next year's service or MOT.

Of course he's a P38. Pass the MOT, drives beautiful and smooth on the motorway home but decides to start stalling at idle when warm and in gear. So I'm guessing the IACV or MAF clean has possibly left a slight air leak to look for. Idles fine when in neutral or park.

Really must get my lpg working :(

Still not sorted out the engine tapping either o_O

You replaced what I've forgotten?

Did you renew the rocker shafts and pedestals?
Replaced the camshaft and lifters.. rocket shafts and pedestals seem ok.
It's only when hot but very intermittent, sometimes can go for days without missing a beat and other times it's like bashing a spoon in a pan

Rocker shafts do wear and can cause a tapping, however with it being intermittent the worst kind of issue to try and diagnose!!!

I've heard the noise, and to me it sounds like one or more followers losing prime, or a collapsed follower, the latter I don't think in this case because of the intermittent factor..

Yes i think that too, because it's the right sort of noise, but sometimes it will go away just off idle, other times it won't. Some times you can blip the throttle and it will go completely.
Other times putting it from drive to neutral then back into drive can make it go away o_O

Have you cast an eye on the flexplate?

Easy to check through the inspection port on the bottom of the bellhousing.

It's that pulling one of the rubber bungs out? What should i look for?

On the bottom of the bellhousing is a small plate secured with 3 8mm bolts it covers an inspection hole once dropped you'll see the torque converter, cast an eye and torch towards the back of the engine, and through the hole you'll see the flexplate, what you're looking for is a split which will be glaringly obvious, might be advisable to turn the engine over manually slowly to check the entire thing..

Well done on the mot:)

Took the plug out of the suspect cylinder to see if it was wet from a leaky injector. Bone dry and a good colour! Put it back, started up and it didn't miss once

So what did you actually disturb? not much really.
Do you have the caps that need the little nipple on plugs, was it loose?
Is that lead/cap broken that you cant see?

See how it goes for the next couple of days.

Not disturbed anything :( but this is the second time I've had the plug out now and the second time it's run ok after. The plug and the lead both look fine
It's a mystery
