What can engine can i use in a 1.8 petrol to replace the K series

After having the head done 3 years ago it has gone again. OT tester showing fumes in header bottle.

Does anyone know what is the best engine to replace the K series with ? Is there one that will go in without to much fuss.

to be honest, its probably much easier and cheaper just to go out and buy a nice td4.

i cant imagin the hassel of changing the engine on it.

Rover 220 turbo is the injun to have. Uses similar box too. :search: and ye shall find

Subaru Impreza WRX Sti engine is fine too. Only problem you have to go through the Chop Shop in London and put Leepu to work ????
