Mines got a recent 069 and whilst it starts it it doesnt exactly do it quickly, certainly doesnt make me confident that its going to start every time.
Thinking of either doubling up or fitting a larger unit.
Its got a new starter all new earth leads alt charging at just short of 14 volts.
Just sound sluggish.

I got a new one for mine about a month ago, brand new tractor battery kicking out 900 cca's, that'll start the bugger :D

oh and it cost £70 inc vat ;)

Thanks for the replies im glad you all think i have a small one!
Been looking at 643 and 644 batteries

couldnt tell you what is in mine, cost around £50 (friend works in autoparts) and has 700-800cca (cant remember and cant be arsed to look) with a 3yr warranty. Been fine and not let me down, much better than the leisure battery the previous owner fitted  only problem was the terminals were the other way around but easily sorted :)

One Tayna arrived and fitted even though its not quite at full charge it starts the engine much better than the fully charged original battery.
So thanks to all of you for the advice.
Especially Crazymac for the linky:)

any long term experience with the tayna anyone?

I've had two on a split charge for over two years now, one runs the winch and i've not had any real problems, I did drain the winch battery once but that was a hell of a lot of 30 metre winches and I was powering the winch out as well as in!

The drive home was enough for it to be back at full charge.

Never failed to start though, even with that issue.

i have been using these batteries for about a year with no probs, i run a 1200lbs winch and aux lighting and just the basic x eng split charge, never had any probs or any of the batteries flattening.

I'm thinking of getting a Bosch S4029 in my 200TDI. 830CCA and 95Ah Just running a couple of extra lights occasionally and no winch. Any thoughts?

that would be a good battery but a bit expensive IMO, I use tractor batteries because they have loads of power and are a hell of a lot cheaper.

It's really up to you what you use just make sure it's got plenty of cca's.
