Following on from the (excellent) "What have you done to your landy today?" thread.

I think we should have a "What are you going to do to your landy?" thread. And I'm not just on about today.

I'm thinking, in no particular order:
- CB Radio
- Posh locking cubby box
- Rear diff guard
- Rock Sliders
- A removable storage system for the back that I can sleep on, and keep kit under
- Roof rack
- Wading kit
- A clean
- A good old fashioned service...

since i got my landy which was march the 7th my list has been

install cd player
wire up speakers
make cubby box
install speakers in cubby box
install rear chequer chest
gearbox oil change
engine oil change

thats completed so far what i have left is

Buy clutch claw
replace rear window
clean engine
cover my cubby box
give it a good clean outside and inside
fit chequer plate

and probably a lot more

:)

why do people keep feeling the need to bolt extras onto their landy

and as fer the following being on yer to-do list !

clean engine
cover my cubby box
give it a good clean outside and inside

the world is all gone mad

take it to a secluded field and throw rocks at..then see if the theory of a lighted match wont start diesel burning is true..if all that fails i will go and get it muddy.

My Disco has pretty much all the things I wanted if I would have bought a standard one..

but things I want to do.. (probably on this order of priority)

Fit wading kit
Get it welded and sort out the rust holes and anything it may need....
Spot light bar
Lower chequer plate

some other bits and bobs, but not much..

I want to fit a wading kit .. and perhaps a snorkel
get it muddy
take the front valence off and fit cats eyes to the front
get it muddy
fit a light bar
get it muddy
needs a service for lpg and petrol soonish
get it muddy

I didn't put get it muddy in mine because it's already muddy.

So maybe muddier :p

Only problem is, girls don't seem to like it muddy. When they comment "Oh I'm not getting in that, its dirty."

They like it even less when you reply "So are you."

My Disco already has larger tyres, HD springs, extended breathers, diff guards both ends, steering guard, removable towbat/diesel tank guard, removed EGR, de-cat exhaust, cut-down bumper and endcaps. It's just had (last six months) new wheel bearings all-round, new discs/pads all-round, swivels, all hub/swivel/diff/gearbox seals done, rear diff, all new UJ's, diff input shaft seals/mudshields new rear doughnut, shock bushes, A-frame bush, ARB bushes.

I will get longer shocks, and/or lowered front and rear shock mounts/towers, dislocation cones all round, HD spring retainers remove ARB's, add Mud tyres all to aid off-road ability, though it's not bad as it is now .. ;)

I'd like to strip it all out internally, have an internal cage, decent seats and five-point harnesses, lift the body 2" and lift the suspension (and all associated work to make it worthwhile) at least 4" or more, even larger tyres, and remove all the towbar stuff, and all the niceties so it's a pure (but still road-legal) off-roader ... then get another like the one I have now for towing the caravan and daily driver .. ;)

Or just keep the one I have now and build a full-on Trials/Challenge monster based on a Disco .. ;)

Only problem is, girls don't seem to like it muddy. When they comment "Oh I'm not getting in that, its dirty."

I suppose "wipe your feet and arse when you get out" doesn't do much when you arrive at the pub either ... ;)
