Where do you keep your landy?

Hi lads
I got a garage, rented. Looking for an RRC now.
Could any RRC owner in Scotland PM me?

My immediate thought is 1. don't buy a RRC, or 2. move house to one with a garage. Or, do you have space and access to build a garage/store in a car tent to the rear of your garden?

Really, any classic Land/Range Rover is not the type of vehicle to keep on the street. Doing this will give you constant sleepless nights. Any classic on the street is not ideal...little protection, prone to knocks/scratches and a right pain in the arse to work on/repair.

Of course, you could rent a local garage/secure long term parking and just amortise this cost within overall cost of ownership.
Don't rent a 'normal' council garage. It won't fit! The only way my old S11 would go in was with the roof off.

Unfortunately, Council’s garages is the only choice here. They are rather small. I’ve measured it and its just enough for the RRC, the only concern is the garage’s door opening/closing with the car inside. I need to try with a car in.

:D ....I've heard some one getting out of the car throughout the sunroof .... never heard just push it and stick a brick. But is good to know.
Inside, wall to wall is 244 cm, hope its ok.

Out the front of my house, my drive does have gates which are locked and 6 or so flood lights which turn night in to day at the flick of a switch and motion sensors.... ;)

The issue i had wasn't the length of the garage but the height of the door opening. It wouldn't go in under the door with the hard top on.

When i had my 1966 S-Type Jag, that would pass under the door, and i could get out, but there was still a foot of car sticking out...

Council’s garage sucks. I don’t have a RRC yet, but I’ve found out, a RRC could get in (rather tight), but then the garage’s door will not close.
Back to square one.

I have the same problem. I'm a bit annoyed because the top of the doorframe has been fitted several inches lower than the lintel so the opening could be higher.

I'm hoping to modify the door or change it before I'm too old to keep taking the hard top off the Landy.

On the plus side the garage is alarmed and inside it is 10 feet wide :)
