Hi everyone, I am replacing an engine which blew on my Disco. It's all coming together well, but a question. There are two long 10mm or so rubber hoses coming off the turbocharger. The old engine had none and another car I know has none either. I do not know the age of the new engine, but I am not aware of any changes to the turbocharger during the 300 Tdi run. (These are both non electronic engines [EDC]). I am wondering whether they might have been for a boost guage in the dash on a previous car? I'll give more detail if you need it!

small hose coming off turbo aluminum housing has t piece one for wastegate actuator other injection pump (diaphragm on top ),

There is a short hose coming off the T piece goes to the small round canister, which is what I suppose is the wastegate actuator, on two of the engines I have. On the one I am fitting there is a long piece of rubber hose where the sort piece was, and coming off the actuator, so it is as if someone has taken the pressure for the wastegate actuator off somewhere and then plumbed it back to the actuator after that. Does that make sense? That is what makes me think that maybe a meter of some sort was installed on the car it was in earlier
