Ok quick run down sorry if it’s a wrong place or already discussed thread, I just a grasshopper.
2007 freelander 2 2.2d
Crank seal went , oil over fecking everything .
Crank pulley also had a mad wobble
The timing tensioner had also slipped.
got everything off and cleaned and new parts back on. all pulleys ,all tensioners ,all belts ,
Went to do the new crank shaft pulley and it didn’t fit .
The two pulleys are different , my sensor ring is the screw out type and the pulley is just centred on the snout of the crankshaft with the bolt and washer. where as the new crank pulley is keyed for the crank .
What’s the story here ?
1. If I get the other type of sensor trigger disc should the new pulley then fit in place and has anyone tried this.
2. Is there two engine variants?
this seems to be a weird subject across all of this variant of Fomoco engine . Just looking to see if there’s any wise owls that can enlighten me with some more gossip on the situation .
ps this is my first thread so I’ll hold off on my rant about the oil filter .
