welding on discoII

Needing help again!

I need to tac weld with a mig, a section of pipe into where I have removed the cat converter.
Is there a problem welding on a disco when the battery is disconected?
Is there a problem disconecting the battery?
Does the computer need resetting afterwards?

just remove battery neg terminal place welder clamp near place to be welded

Make sure you have your radio code before you disconnect your battery.

Disconected battery terminal and tacked successfully.
Only problem is, now that I am up and running again disconecting the battery must have upset the locking circuit. Now I have no remote locking. It seems to have been turned off.
Does anyone know if I can turn it on myself or do I have to take it to a dealer?
