firstly kill yer mate, secondly kill him again.then get in touch with IRISHROVER and tell him your sad tale and see if he can help you sort this mess out.fourthly, you guessed it,kill yer mate.:doh::D:p;)

WD 40 is a water dispersant hence the name, WATER DISPERSANT (WD) (40) the fourtieth formula thereof. It is NOT for use on electrical circuits. It was first used for protecting the outer skins of missiles. Spraying it on circuit boards is not recommended.

Get some no residue contact cleaner from the likes of Maplin or CPC and use it to wash out the WD40. Disconnect the battery first and also make sure you have your EKA code and know how to use it.

It never ceases to amaze me !!!People go out and buy the stuff and think it does everything. Yes, spray it on plug leads. Lubricate hinges with white grease, use Plus Gas for penetrating oil...that's what it's designed for, lubricate lock barrels with graphite and clean electrical contacts etc with contact cleaner, NOT oil, which is what WD 40 is.

I don't think spraying wd40 on connections will harm them to the point that the engine wouldn't start.. I'd say if it doesn't it's more like the disconnecting and connecting of various components has freaked out the BeCM or it's put it out of sync with the engine ECU, especially if the battery was connected/ ignition on while he was doing it..

WD into the BeCM on the other hand... erm, who knows!

With a 5v logic board and ageing electronics, I certainly wouldn't use it even if the board was removed and powered down. The bitches can be tempramental at the best of times:eek:...as many will testify !!!!!
