Water ways

It's been almost six months now since my beloved 1995 110 csw was written off by some old git(no offence to you lot on here

)

I have saved my money and now have a replacement wing and front axle.

While it's having the chassis straightened and all the other stuff done on my driveway I thought I'd address some other issues. Radiator being one of them, which posted about previously.
Thought I'd give all the water ways a good flush and clean but wondered if there was such a thing as a descaler/cleaner for it. I have some rather vicious stuff for my kettle which is formic acid. Thought this might be a bit too much. I'm in a hard water area so with the temperature it must cause scale to build up - Is there anything on the market I can add and run the engine for a while before draining.
Oh and is it worth using the de ironised water to refill??

I only use Sainsbury's spring water in mine

if its had antifreeze in before just refill using the same and tap water ,in my experience even living like you do on the chalk,ive never seen lime scale issues

I used Sainsburys bog standard kettle descaler in the cooling system. Just add then run around to get things nice and hot. Let the descaler do its stuff for half an hour then drain , flush, and refill using correct antifreeze. TD5 uses OAT antifreeze but I think the Tdis use glycol.

But never needed to myself so can't speak for it
