Warning lights

Hi all,

Freelander td4 both warning lights for traction control and HDC (!) showing in Amber.

Thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

A proper tester would tell but my guess it's an abs sensor (difficult to replace!) Or worse the abs pump. 8 out of 10 cases it's one or more of them sensors.

I may be wrong, but if an wheel sensor is out it will light the ABS lamp as well, so 3 Amigos.

I think 2 amigos is more likely the brake switch.

Reading the diagnostic codes will give the answer though. I think Halfords in the UK will read codes, dunno if they charge for it. I take mine down to my local LR indie garage when I need the codes read and cover their palms with a few tokens.

Does the ABS warning light come on when you turn the ignition on and then go off?

Some people remove the ABS light to get a car through a MOT, so a 3 Amigos would look like a 2 amigos!

Yep mine did not show up the abs light because it was "blanked" with some black mastic. Without readings the codes I guess changing everything will do.
