Hi,

As it says in the title im seeking for what seems like 'The Holy Grial':(

Im currently finishing the rebuild of my 110 CSW and it needs doors as the current ones are way past repairing.

So what are the chances of me finding a pair?????

Cheers

Leigh:)

Hi,

I've been looking for a pair for ages with no luck. Have certainly found a few online and via ebay, but in some cases they've been in worse nick than mines, and in others are overpriced in addition to being humped. Have been taken to the cleaners by a "well known" online parts finder, but am taking them to the small claims court, so have to keep my gob shut about that one. These guys below do defender doors, but the second row ones don't have the glass separator (the small pane of glass to the rear of the door). I'm not sure if I can butcher that off my landy or not - any ideas? Also, they are expensive, but at the moment i've got a plate across my door to stop it opening, and MOT time is coming soon..... :(

Didn't look too badly priced - but then it's not me needing to find the cash!

re: glass - would be tempted to go for a single piece rather than replicate the separate panel. Easy life and all that....but accept it means you would then need to buy glass, winder mechanism etc as well

Re Station House -

Hmm, might be tempted, hand't realised that you could convert - will have a neb on paddocks etc. and see how much it all comes to. I'm sure I don't need both my kidneys, but I definetly need some side doors !

Thanks for the info!
cheers

Been talking to a nice lady here as well. The part numbers for the doors and the breakdown in the parts book does not show the divider and glass pane..a mystery... of course a wider piece of glass will not wind down because of the shape of the door.. and I imagine you cannot put sliding windows as it will need runners where the window would normally be. I too am on the hunt for the holy grail of good rear doors...bought some from Preston last week for £90 for the pair....nearside one is better than mine so may strip it and use it but the other is not great at all...only good for full refurb...good luck with the window question
edit
just found this off another website for windows after a google.....

The latest window is CPB000111 (£129.94 per side) earlier versions were MWC4733 (£155.93) and CPB000110 (£129.94)
you'll also need CQW000010 external filler strip (£2.35 each) and CPE000030 (£18.58 each) internal "seal"

Ofcourse! (forehead slapping moment) - The shape of the side door would stop you winding a full sized glass down it. Doh. Ok, I may have to take a leap of faith then and order the door. Let the butchering begin!! I can see me having £230 worth of scrap by the time I'm finished with my grinder! If successful, will post pictures in. If not, will bury evidence in garden and continue the hunt!
cheers

That's an excellent link - thanks saxmanuk! (though no pictures unfortunately). Will have a neb at my side door innards tonight, see if I can work out how to shift the bar. By the looks of things it's definetly going to require the winder mechanism and a doorlock.

Will drop nice lady Diane and email and see if I can get a door for next week.

PLease keep me posted as I need to refurb my doors, one by one, starting with a dented 2nd row nearside door. I would be interested in how you get on. I think the price is not too bad from Diane, once you take into account there is no paint prep work and you have a blank canvas, so to speak
Cheers

Hi, yup, the price is ok, considering what I was looking at paying for pre-rusted secondhand doors. Will keep you posted on progress, and put some pics on this thread in a couple of weeks time (if I still have fingers to do so!).

Cheers

Hello,

have decided to order door from Diane after seeing what was on offer today in a scrappy in Fife for £130. to be fair, it's not as bad as mines, but give it three months and I reckon it will be there!
