Hello, does anyone have a syncmate for P38 Gems in Northumberland or Newcastle area I can borrow?
I just want to give this a try as I am locked out, engine will not crank.
Car is home on my drive so no rush.

Thanks
Ian

Have you tried the Landyzone International Rescue Map? Link in first post here:

@Mutsnuts used to be up in Middlesbrough so he might know someone with diag up that way.

Have you tried the EKA? Assume central locking all working with no issues? Car definitely in Park?

There does not appear anyone local on the map.
Waiting for new battery, tomorrow, going to cycle the windows, key in key out routine and try again the EKA code with the new battery.
Everything is working, getting clicking noise from BECM and not cranking with my spare battery.
Central locking working, tailgate opening, its a manual gearbox, passenger door not unlocking with fob.
What I have seen is; message bonnet open when the bonnet is shut and locked, maybe this could stop EKA key sync?
No engine warning lamp is displayed.
I did not post rescue section as its not urgent.
Cheers for the reply

EKA will not work with the bonnet open and it may also stop the immobiliser from turning off in your situation. Fix the obvious problem and then see what you have.

I may be stating the bleedin' obvious but ... a weak battery will cause all sorts of malfunctions.
I'm not sure this'll help much either but I'm in the Borders and have got Nanocom, but don't have unlock codes for Gems...
Maybe you need to check bonnet open/shut sensor?

Might not be related but on early models the big blade fuse in the bonnet fusebox is for both the EAS compressor and starter motor. If compressor seizes then fuse blows and no start! Always start with a fully charged battery with these beasts though.

Thanks for replys, New battery will be here tomorrow.
I will find the bonnet sensor and I will check the starter compressor fuse.
Cheers All

Mark, No engine imobilized warning and no engine mil light
Only warning message is airbag.
I am waiting for my new battery, get it charged fully and try again.
I have gone thru EKA code sequence, and I now have central locking from all round the car, as said only airbag warning. Windows not set warning no longer there.
I am ordering syncmate as it points to this.
I have given starter a whack and I will do that with new battery on but lights dont dim when trying ignition, getting a clicking noise fro BECM
I will give the car a push in gear - done this before with other vehicles and has helped with starter.

If you have a multi meter, check you have 12.6v at the heavy wire on the starter and get someone to turn the key to see if your getting 12v at the trigger wire also. If not then go from there. ;)

I will Mark no problems.
That is why I set up my youtube channel, to help others restoring D1's.
Ian's Garage Workshop
I will be featuring the Pre Production P38 on there too.

Cheers

Might as well get the Nanocom if you're thinking of a Syncmate. That way you have everything covered. Rare for GEMS to lose sync.

Someone somewhere said Nanocom would not Sync BECM to engine Ecu!
Anyway its ordered, would like engine running then I will buy a Nanocom.
Someone will buy the Syncmate if Nanocom covers it.
I intend keeping the P38 as its a Pre Production
Cheers
