Can anyone tell me what I'd need to do in prep for wading in my series 2 td5 auto diesel? I have purchased a snorkel and also an axle breather kit for the axle breathers and diff/gearbox breathers.

Do I need to fit plugs or anything else? We often get fairly severe flooding due to the rivers around the house bursting their banks during winter and I'd like to wade with confidence when the time comes this year!

I've tried having a look through the previous posts and keep coming across defender wading advice and 300tdi advice. Struggling with advice for my disco.

So you intend to go in above LRs recommended wading depth for the standard vehicle, Ok then remove carpets or check that your door sills will hold up and water proof the electronics in the engine bay.
Can't think of any additional plugs required, D1s & 2s fitted with a timing-chain and/or an automatic gearbox don't have "wading plugs".

as above wading above recommended depth cant be garanteed ,breather kits wont guarantee water wont enter axles or boxes ,wheel bearings prop ujs etc

So Jamesmartin, should I avoid wading where possible then? I'm looking to get the best prep I can as I don't intend to wade if possible.

if possible avoid any above bottom of sills and if you have to go above check all oils for water ,grease prop to push water out were possible asap
