Righteo.....On The Viscous Fan On The Landy 90, (2.5 TD) You Need A Special Sized Spanner To Get The Thing Off (Apparently It's A Bit Flat) Could Anyone Possibly Supply Me With The Measurements For The Thing? At All?

Not sure of the exact size (I think they're more or less universal) Halfords sell the spanner quite cheap. & of course after you've removed the fan If you find it's not made as well as think it should (the spanner not the fan) . Halfords have a no quibble moneyback policy!! :)

Me neither AND I wouldn't dream of suggesting such a thing. But you know how it is. You use a tool and then think actually I'm not happy with that. "The colour doesn't look right in this light." ;) Or "mmm it doesn't quite sit right in my hand.":) Or even "actually it's a piece of ****e, & I'm never gonna use it again so it might as well go back." :D :D

A/F size is 1.25", offset is 2" at 1.375" from the back of the jaws.

You can get it off with a 10mm ring spanner on the bolts from the fan to the viscous unit with a bit of fannying about.

I couldn't use a regular spanner on my 200tdi but went to my local landy people in glastonberry and they let me use theirs quite a bit for free whilst i was trying different viscous units. If you know of a garage that isn't run by money grabbing thieves then its worth a shot, in most cases it doesn't make much odds to them enyhow as taking the unit off is only a 2 minute job and its not a particularly common job anyhow so its not as if you're holding the garage up.

I got my fan off my TD5 Defender with an adjustable spanner.
Took off the upper cowling and had enough room between the rad toget on the nut.
Couple of taps (normal thread on TD5) with a hammer and Robs your mothers brother.
Had a look at the so called purpose made spanners and decided that they would not last 5 minutes.
