vin plate

my vin plate on me 1988 90 shows the chassis number but nothin else no paint code etc,should more info be on the vin plate,its positioned on the master cylinder if thats its correct place..now ive put a 200 tdi in it do i have to have the log book ammended?

Mines the same , just the chassis number and nothing else ---- just got to give dvla the new engine number and tell the dredded Insurance people you changed engines .

As far as i know though, its not a reuirement to tell the DVLA. I could be wrong though.

If I am wrong, id better tell them soon...

Just tell em the new engine number - that's all. Most insurance companies (well, the ones i checked) had the option of a LR90 4C TDi on their options coz it's so common!
