Alright guys, just letting you know about my interior light in my defender. Spent about £7 on it and i think it's the dogs danglies.
Basically I bought a strip of LEDs on eBay 5M 300 LED Strip Light 3528 5050 5630 SMD 12V LED Flexible Strip Lighting | eBay
Routed them around the inside guttering of my roof so you can't see them and wired them up on a little switch I had. It works really well as the light reflects off the roof
Here are my results.. Ignore the strip on the right hanging down, I hadn't cut the strip
But maybe it's worth a try for some of you

This is on my list of stuff to do, I have these as under counter lighting in my kitchen.

The only thing that worries me is what happens if the gutter gets water in it?

I'm no good with electrics. Could you talk me through how the wire up?
I'm sure they are straight forward but don't want to miss something out.

They are just 12v, so can be wired in directly without any adaptors.

You could either connect directly to the interior light connectors (I don't think these have much power drain) in which case the lights will turn on with the doors opening, but you would have to go under the headlining I guess. Or you could wire them straight from the battery through a switch (and fuse of course).
