I've bought a rangie with no mot or tax and it's about 250 miles away. Would it be legal if i was to book it in for mot near me and drive it to the mot station.

will yer passatt tow close on 3 tonnes (RR + Trailer)?
the handbook should tell yer, but I very much doubt it.

don't be tempted to drive it, because your insurance will be invalid too.

Once again bugger, looks like i'm gonna be in the hands of the vehicle collection people. Unless anyone on here has ways and means for cash in return obviously. I'm in essex andthe rangie is in knutsford.
Doh!

You should be able to get it picked up and delivered to your door for a bit over a hundred quid. Loads of blokes advertise their services on ebay.

fook me tugsonhimself is moving out of the off roading in merseyside section. how yer finding catching yer breath where the air is thinner?? ;)

all snorted i'm gonna borrow a mates fraud maverick and i'm renting a trailer, the proper way to do it. Ish! I'll be insured too. Proper job.

ffs you dont want to tow a rangie with one a them, my old one blew up just towin a fookin caravan,
an a caravan must be at least a ton lighter.

Is a ford mavrick able to tow that much weight legally? Dunno how heavy a rr is but it must be getting on for 3 ton including the trailer.

any grief from plod, just pretend to be polish, or slovakian, or any other balkan country and you don't speak english. They'll probably bend over backwards to help to get where you want, then give you a council house, and a fistful of cash. Then tell the government you need your new rangie to get back home and they'll give you a huge cash sum to get back on the road. Then just disappear without a trace back into your old life as a taxpayer !
