Just thought Id let you know that Ive spotted that the supermarket chain that jamie oliver does ads for has got deals on veg oil now £4.35 for 5 litres at mo and you can get 6 litres for £5 from another chain sounding a bit like mazda

The Mazda one (if it's in the 3 litre bottles) is about 10% anti foaming agent (silicone) which doesn't burn and can make it a bit tricky to start once it's built up a bit. If it's about 825 calories per 100ml then it has an additive - it needs to be 900.

Do they not have to list this anti-foamimg stuff on the ingredients:confused: saw this stuff yesterday, but they don't mention anti-foam on the label:confused:, can anydody shed any light, or did I just not read the label properly:doh:

Just bought a load from the supermarket that sounds like Borrissons and that's 9000 cal/litre. The woman wouldn't sell it to me at first, then changed her mind, then after i'd paid i asked why she might not sell it to me and she sheepishly said "Apparently i've heard that some people might be running their cars off it". I said "That can't be right. Oh well, i'll let you know if i spot any"!!!

What the ****'s it got to do with them what you do with it? They're either selling it or they're not surely.

This checkout person was clearly the manager of all things right and wrong in the world as well as her lowly checkout job so i thought it best not to cause a scene!

If it's that cheap in our Tesco I'm having some ... ;)

Last time we ran veg oil off the shelf it was 57p a litre .. 'Pura' veg oil. In fact this turned out to be 100% rapeseed oil, which is apparently the best, but I've used allsorts of crap in mine and I don't have any worries about using this stuff either .. just off now to get some!

pride vegetable oil it says: Soyabean Oil (derived from a GM source), Antifoaming Agent E900
1 store 7 miles away has 2 drums on the shelf but its available online and with del charge works out at 75p a litre

the one that used to be safeway over the road from me has 3l bottles of vege for £2,52 at the mo - mind you now Im getting wvo for nowt..........

I'd try it at 30 to 50% with diesel, see how it goes ... it's oil after all, and mine's burnt everything from 8 year old 2 stroke to old, used and fecked ( but filtered) gearbox and engine oil .. :)
