i am just about to get a tdi 300 (still looking 4 a nice 1)
i wanna do a twin tank veg oil system on it, while a am sorting the cash for that would i get away with just sticking used veg oil in to the tank with the diesel at a less then 50/50 mix????? just to take a dent out of the **** take fuel price:D till i can get the twin tank sorted. cheers

Short answer is yes-though this time of year you might do better with 10% petrol+30% derv and 60% wvo-the wvo has got to be filtered to at least 5 microns and dry-Any mix you use, keep a sample in a bottle on your drive so you can monitor your "mix" for waxing.Reason for using petrol, you get about 3x more thinning than derv equivalent.

In summer you won't need twin tank any way-lots of guys run 300 tdi's on straight veg in warmer weather-why not just blend for the winter

hi i run my 1994 200 tdi on a veg mix i buy from ebay already mixed with everything ready to go it gets dropped of at your door for 80p per litre iv been doing this now for two months 40 mile round trip per day and she still pulls like a train hope this helps

Ohhhhhhhh so what blend do u recomend for summer and what for winter cheers pal

This is my little protest against the sluting fuel tax lol I'll run my gas guzeling beast on other ppls throw out oil lol was chatting to a lad at work and all he could say was "yeah u will just smell like a chip shop" all my reply was I couldn't care if it smells like dog crap lol it freeeeeeee lol

If you are buying road fuel make sure its got duty paid on it, also do a 50/50 water test on it to make sure the soaps have been removed, 500ml bio 500ml water in pop bottle and shake should settle to clear water and cloudy bio. If you are buying veg oil mixed with stuff, you may find the "stuff" is a rebated oil and if you get dipped you will lose your car. Also if you don't know exactly what you are putting in your tank you may come out one cold morning to find you have a tank full of solid fat.

check my sig for the best veg forum.
