vcu when hot

hello all took freelander to a empty car park and put it in reverse and hard lock
both sides and all was nice. but after a 15 mile run i can up to a round about and back ns wheel skipped (like a locked vcu)got home and felt the vcu and it was bit warn its a recon 6 months old.
can they get hot and stop working (seize up) then cool down and be ok .

mainly because the work properly when hot and a cool when seized.

do the wheel up test

will do the wheel up test just got to get a big nut.
local garage checked it over and could ed fine any problem will it
