Get prop off freelander. 17mm loosen bolt off thats in the end of vcu meets the shaft. Prise it off with a bar in the end using the bolt as a rest. Then pull bearing off and fit new. Ive just dun mine pretty easy

Get yourself a tin of release agent like Plus Gas. My front prop-shaft was seized solid to the VCU and in the end I had to use heat. If possible spray everything several times over a few days before starting.
And yes, take the whole thing off before you start. Only takes an hour or so makes seperating easier and saves any damage from parts hanging down.

Took me bout 15 mins to drop entire prop off.then bout hour to sepperate it. Copper mallet and bit of beating.and pry bar in the uj coupling and use the 17mm bolt in it as a lever point itl give in end.

Grease everything up when you reassemble to make life easier next time

I've just ordered a new hardy spicer universal joint cause of the violence and heat it took to remove the prop shaft. Not too bad though, only £6.75 off ebay.
