Ive been a hunting for either a defender or a descovery and Im finding that some ads for the defenders "quote" + VAT to be added....

I thought vat applies to new cars only... can hard deem a 110 as a commerical vehicle

whats the score and is there away around this... I just dont like the idea of that bloody tax man getting his cut again

If a VAT registered company is selling a commercial vehicle, then VAT is payable...

doesnt have to be a company either,if an individual is vat registerd then vat applies aswell

int really a way round it. even if someone buys it for you who is vat registered, then claims the vat back, they will have to account for it somewhere along the line and will then become their liability.

best finding one that's a private sale, not a trader / company if you really don't want to pay the VAT.
