hi all,

First poster here so go easy, ive tried the search button to no avail, i have a 95 p38 diesel. On friday i had the jeep valeted by the local car wash i picked it up late friday night parked it up and came out to a flat battery on saturday morning i had to unlock the car with the key and jump start it. Once i connected the jump leads i noticed the headlights come on so i thought ok my fault and i checkd the head light switch and noticed it was off. so ive tried turning it on and off and they stay on constantly. ive left the car running all day saturday with the heaters on to try and dry out any dampness but they are still on today.

Any suggestions?? (other than scrap it)
 
If needs be, take out the BECM and leave it to dry in an airing cupboard. Clean & dry all the BECM plugs with a hair dryer. DO NOT use WD40 or similar, only Switch/Contact cleaner or Isopropanol.
The BECM works with low voltage logic circuits and they don't mix well with water/moisture.

Hi mate thank you for the quick reply, i had an electrician take a quick look at it earlier and he asked me where the ecu was which is how i ended up on here after a quick google search, can you point mein the direction of the becm ?

i dont know i left a p38 got a cherokee with dodgey headlights back, **** take really

just found it, pulled a few plugs one of the yellow ones at the front kills everything including the airbag the abs and the traction control as well as the headlights, i never knew the car had traction control, is there a way to disable it? i like to play in my cars as you can see below.

Ive got some electrical spray somewhere ill try dig it out if not i guess its out with this big ecu thing, its a fair size though. too many electrics on these ranges.

lol, they are quite ****e these p38s, far cry from a real 4x4,

i drive it because it looks good thats about it,. my old k reg shogun was a far superior machine.
 
Nice drifting!!! Good to see someone enjoying themselves in their motor!!

They finger waggers will be along shortly to scold about how you're adding to the bad image of SUV's but all I'll say is Fcukem if they cant take a joke!!

Scottie WtF were ya doing haning out the side?Natural selection dictates ya should have fallen out n got run over by ya own motor for being a knobber.The ya could join east 17. Hope that aint carpet right in romford where ya doing that cos its full of chavs doing that when i wanna sleep!

Oi i aint beadry or a tree hugger, just dont need waking up!In me boy racer dayz i was off to lakeside givin it beans with the rest.No ****ers to wake up there(and plety of room for when the handbrake turns get a bit lairy)

I know, I resisted a tirade cause I figured if he's a Scot he's probably taking the **** and trying to brew up a bit of a barney for the craic:D

I mean he came on and said:
1. p38 is ****e
2. I only have it for the pose value
3. Slitty eyes 4 wheelers are far superior
4. posted a video of him hooning it in public

little Scottish ****e is only bored and looking for a bit of **** stirring:D:D
