Right,

After the filter now goto replace rear part of the rusted fuel (petrol) pipe. It leaks a small drip every minute.

I think (proper) fuel hose is easier to install, and searched quit a bit, but can not find answers to the following:

-Do I HAVE TO use metal pipe/tubing or is a fuel hose all the way allowed ? (read somewhere only small bits of hose is allowed)

-Copper is not good apparently, cause of strength or leaves deposits in petrol? Or not ?

-Why did Land Rover use pipe/tubing and not hose ?

:scratching_chin:

Thanks expert !

Thanks guys, thanks for the replies.

I'd done the same google-and landyzone searches and came across the same results.

True, I said copper, but it is probably brass. :speakenglish:

But I am searching for the facts, really. I know I can always get LandRover parts and renew what I got.

So, does anyone know why Land Rover used from rear fuel pump to engine: 10 cm (4" ok !) hose, then metal tube until filter, then before and after filter again the 10cm hose, then metal tube again ?

There must be a reason. If I was LR I'd use flex-hose all the way, but they did not !?

Is there a Land Rover professor out there ?

:) Mike

I'd say steel pipes are used for robustness when the vehicle was manufactured (just a guess though). Obviously this degrades over time but is less surceptable to damage in harsh conditions.
