v8 wont tick over

hi all, my disco 3.9 v8 does not like ticking over, it will high idle at 1500rpm anf if the revs do drop its because its dieing, does not like to start when warm either, but once running and driving she drives fine without missing a beat.

any help would be appreciated, thankyou Dan

mine had this exact problem turned out to be the throttle potentiometer. bought a second hand one and all is good.

coolant temp sensor, base idle,ecu faults?
cap leads and rotor? use only gen parts

ok some off them bits i want to do any way.its just strange how during driving it doesnt miss a beat.

Inlet leak somewhere might be a possibility?

il get out there in the morning and have a look.get some bits and give it a serice and hopfully with what you guys have advised me on here i can sort it out.
