L322 Fuel pipes on the fuel pump 4.4 petrol wont come off

The fuel pump is making a racket and the car wont pull off. It will idle and start but is like a kangaroo when driving When its warm and on the lpg it runs fine. So with the bag of spanners sound from the pump and the running problem its the pump. Ive got a new pump but i cannot get the 2 fuel lines off the old pump. I have a special right angled pinchers to go around the red plastic bit but they wont release. I can push the pipe up and down and its free , but they wont pull off. Obviously i dont want to tug so hard i break them off so any tips would be appreciated. Ive watched a u tube vid on this and it and he says just pinch with fingers and they pull off , but that not happening with me, Any tips would be appreciated

Mine needed a fair amount of pulling to release them. I was worried about breaking the clips but found jiggle and firm pull gets them off, think I just pushed in with my fingers? Did filter under passenger rear at the same time.

Update
These are a real fiddle but did get them off. You have to push down the top of the pipe whilst getting a flat blade underneath and push up. Ive never come across these before and didnt want to damage them as that would have been more than a few hours work. I did order the whole lot of filter and pump and only the pump came. So i just replaced that. It was a lucas one for £85. Works a treat and slid onto the old filter without a problem.
