Does anybody know of a kit or system that can be purchased to put on a 3.5 v8?
And then what else needs changing or adapting to fit?

TVR power can supply all that is neccessary - it ain't cheap (not for twin carb you have to have a 4-barrel) for £4500 plus inlet manifold and 600 carb(1000)

Seems an extreme way of getting an extra 100 horses - a 4.6 with Edelbrock 600 carb/manifold, nice kent h200 cam and stage 1 heads will cost about the same and have much more torque low down.

A guy on the Defender 50th website has a supercharged 4-litre - it does 6 mpg when he is using over 3000rpm and the charger is on full chat!

Good luck

It would be cheaper n eaiser just to fit a 5.0 crank or but a 4.6 and put stage heads and performance cam as has been said, sports cam can add 20 ish bhp and stage 1 heads 20% more power, so you be looking at a 40bhp increase for a 1/4 of the price ;) NOS????!!

he said 3.5 V8 - 150bhp approx

I said 4.6 plus cam plus edelbrock inlet and carb plus headwork - 250 bhp approx.

A chev mouse motor is far cheaper and a much more reliable of getting 250 hp.And just remember when you win lotto the bolt pattern is the same on a rat motor,so you can buy a 572 cu in version which is over 600 hp as standard. All nuts and bolts stuff....

You mean a 383 Edelbrock mouse like mine below?

I've got 3.5 supercharged engine in my garage ( presently in bits) it's a wade blower on custom manifold, heads have had the ports straightened up and reshaped, lots of fabrication has went into this, running a 600 double pumper.with nos. omega pistons.i bought it like this, the guy who use to own it used it for drag racing he estimated an easy 350 hp at 8 psi boost, used to run low 10 seconds in a tr7 .there is actual pictures of it in David hard castles book on tuning the rover v8 engine.just need to find some time and get this thing rebuilt

Yep,simple, cheap, reliable power. And its easy enough to make it work in a LR.The mouse is the most common engine in the world, lots of stuff available, but even standard they are far more affective than a Rover - which should have remained at 3.5 ltrs.

I wouldn't say that my 383 stroker was cheap - I suppose you could call it good value condidering the monstrous performance it gives.

RV8 is limited and the sooner we admit that i think the better cos it's easy to throw money at it and not really get very far!

It's just so scary moving into the american market, plus the iron block is a bit oo'er, i think i prefer the lightweight aluminium.

I would be happy with a cross bolt top hat 4.6 for mine, nice cam and the jobs a good'un, more than enough go for an land rover than spends most of its time trundling around off road :)
