hi can any one advise me on what to do next as i am stuck:confused:? i have a light weight with a v8 in and i have put a brand new classic range rad in the back with alloy piping back to the engine and it is still running hot,i have took the stat out and bled the system and the heater is nice and warm, there is good water flow back to the header tank so i think the water pump is good? if any one can help i would be very happy,,,,,,,,,thanks guys

what happens if you shut down heater and drive? if it's okay you may need to restrict heater flow to get flow round radiator at high level, air flow over it? Also be aware as you increase height flow will decrease-did it run fine before high level rad.

if you shut the valve down it runs hotter? ye there is air flow to the rad and yes it run hot when the rad was standard in the front this is why i thought it would solve the problem with putting the rad in the back?

If I read this right you have the radiator in the back. V8's need a lot of cooling. Maybe you should either fabricate some scoops/fins to direct air to the rad or add an electric fan and have it either constantly running or controlled by a temp sender.
