my new heads ar 14 studs,my old heads are 10 studs,they can still go on i think.
Are you sure you've got that the right way around? I though your model year would have 14 bolt heads.
Yes they will still go on, but the compression ratio will be lower with the thicker composite gaskets due to larger combustion chambers on the 14 bolt type. If you use tin gaskets, the c.r. will be maintained. Changing the type of head gasket will make the refitting of the inlet manifold a little fiddly but not impossible
 
The row of bolts deleted on newer rv8 as tipped heads, nobody will tell you but 60,000 plus with original bolts the heads tipped and eventually blow valley gasket.
The affected row can safely be torqued to 25nm to merely fill holes fit composite gaskets as Unless immaculate the tin ones will never be perfect and the compression difference on RV8 will make zero practical difference

My disco is R reg 97 but says on log book firs regestered 98.The heads what am taking off are 10 studs,the heads i was gonna fit are recon 14 stud,will they go on.
