Head bolts loose? And other questions

Your local Ikea might have some wooden dowels going spare..... o_O

Them paccar 4 pots are decent motors.
 
To update this, I have bought a new head as the old one had cracks to the coolant gallery on 3 cylinders, and have got steel dowels. Not even sure if you can buy them plastic ones now. Have checked the length of them and there is over 1.5mm clearance not including the HG

I think the plastic dowels come in the Britpart head kits. Not sure I’d trust anything in their kits though for a cylinder head!

I didn't get any britpart 😁The place I got the head from only sells elring gasket sets so I have that

You're not meant to share! 🤣 I just saw that, I'm not in tomorrow but I'll nip in early and sort it. Getting dragged off for a half term day out! I have it on good authority Halfords are currently the best for the ball joint tool
 
I already bought the big Nielsen set, couldn't believe when it arrived it's almost the size of a suitcase
