So the cat has been cooked I believe failed emissions and brakes are ****e. So need new brakes all round and new cats I assume to get emissions down.
So does it run now without cutting out?
Brake may want fettling and bleeding out properly

Yeah slight popping so I'm guessing timing and new cats should do the trick. according to google 3.9 v8I disco 1's don't exist

You said that one bank wasn't firing due to dodgy leads, this will foul lambda sensor on cat vehicles- what readings did you get on co2

Yeah, high CO means rich mixture whereas high HC means bad cat and/or misfire.
Check your injection tuning etc and see what's what, if you have passed HCs I don't think you have failed cats necessarily.

I'm assuming a screwdriver to the black plastic container on the back followed by a lit match will solve the Co issue? I can't even find any parts to start swapping over

Am I right in thinking 300tdi and the V8 discs are the same. Seem to have same part number.
