Hi All Help Please
1998 Range Rover 4.6 Overheating.
Story so far is
New big end bearings and piston rings.

New water pump, New thermostat, New temperature sender, Rad was new 5 years ago so should be ok, heads skimmed and new head gaskets fitted.
New LPG system (Overheats on LPG and Petrol

The car overheats approximately every 30miles on a run. It will tick over on the drive for hours without a problem. I have had it at 3000rpm for 15min after warming up with no problem.
When I run around town sometimes it overheats after 10mins sometimes its OK.
I have had the hose pipe running through the rad, heater matrix and inlet manifold and there does not seems to be any blockage. The thermostat opens ok (already tried 3 of them)
I originally built the engine without skimming the heads. Thinking that this was my problem I stripped it again and had the heads skimmed but I still have the problem.
Should I have pressure tested the heads ? or could the fault be the block.
This all started with the water.

Hi All
Thanks for your help and advice I had come to the conclusion that it was the block that was cracked when somebody told me about this super sealing liquid from the USA.
Well it goes like this being as it had not got to the pressurising point for two days I thought I would get some of this stuff and try it as the person who told me about it was still running his Range Rover two years later with this stuff in it.
Here’s where it all ends I went ten miles down the motorway to get this stuff and on the ten mile route back I was suppressed that the temperature had not gone up with my eyes glued to the temp gauge I didn’t notice the oil light until it was too late. Well my wife towed me home with her Discovery and the Range Rover is dead in the front garden.
Don’t know what went wrong with the oil (there was still plenty in it) but when it stopped the water was under pressure as all the hose’s were solid.

The wonder sealer irontite and yes it does work but if you are overheating so quick it will never get chance to work
When I have my blocks done I offer a full engine and head ceramic sealer option this done to the block and heads before assembly and gives a better coverage than the sealer added to the cooling system
