V8 3.9 EFI engine and R380 Gearbox

I want to replace my 2.5 petrol enine and it's LT77 gearbox currently in my MY1985 LR90 with the above combination. Anyone has access to the gearbox, the V8 version? I know the engine is available buy need help finding the gearbox.

One more thing, will it fit in my 90 with the same position where the LT77 gear sticks hang out?

i have an r380 gearbox currently in a disco 300 tdi im breaking

I was told this won't fit a defender in the same position as the LT77 gear sticks.

were now doing a 300tdi conversion on my 90 and using the discovery gearbox cradle just drilling new holes in the chassis to take the cradle bolting it to the props then fitting the engine and moving them to if needed

Thank you for the info, I just bought a V8 LT77 yesterday for 116.00 pounds. I guess it is great value for money and I won't go through the hassle of modifications.
